Untitled

The night was black.
The stars shone dim and distant from afar
But afforded no heat, no comfort.
I wandered long through the Stygian darkness
And through the stinging chill,
Seeking solace, solace and warmth.

I saw the light of the Searcher from the distance,
(Light cuts far through darkness)
Yet I refused to go to him.
Instead, I turned
And stumbled on my own in the dark.
I fled before him, yet he followed me.
I ran, I tripped, I lurched through the briars in the night.
And yet he came, pursued me doggedly,
And, at last, caught me.

He brought me into the Light,
Into that warmth and comfort which I had vainly sought,
But which I had also feared.
It is now my home.

Here I stand, and here I will remain,
For I have learned that there is nowhere else.
