Links
Every site will have the quintessential page that contains links to pages that they enjoy, and so I guess I'm presenting to you guys my links. Visit them if you want, and enjoy them.
I Search With Google (or Altavista, if you prefer)
The Obligatory Links to Pages of People I Know
Non Wash U Peeps (that
phrase is currently cool, right?)
*Yoji Asamizu's web page -- this
is kind of ridiculous, he's at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign,
one of the techiest schools ever, majoring in Computer Engineering, and this is
the best he can come up with? It's disappointing. I HOPE
YOU'RE READING THIS, YOJI! Last updated September of 1999?
*paultyng.com -- this guy's a Grade A
computer guy. I think he's going to Miami at Ohio, but I'm not sure --
he's pretty non-committal about everything. I do know he hasn't gone to
college yet and he's already been offered 80 thou to work at some software
company, plus stock options. Impressive, but he's still a bum.
Where Andy Goes to Buy Crap Online
Wear Clothes Like Andy Does!
*Banana Republic -- yeah, I know it's purely blatant capitalism directly
padding the pockets of "the man," but there's nothing like a good
shirt, or a nice pair of pants. I shop here a lot and I like it, so don't
bother calling me a "yuppie" or anything like that. I recommend
getting yourself something nice here once in a while.
*J. Crew -- again, I'm aware that it's purely
capitalistic and I'm overspending, but I only buy "nice" things, and
besides, if I do get clothes, it's now almost exclusively from the fine
establishment just above. But I still check out J. Crew once in a while.
Books, Music, and More
* Lists of novels to
read, or so they say.
* A Harper's Article written by Jonathan Franzen, an author I'm currently reading.
* No, not Borders anymore, I dig on Amazon.com,
and get my new music and books from here. Check out my wish list any time
you want.
*ebay -- sometimes I check out what's for sale
here ... not often though.
*gamestop -- for you computer people, this
is where *I* get my entertainment software.
Fun Places to Hang Out
Places With Info on Music I
Jam to
*Dido -- this is a pretty
neat looking page that has some pretty good info on one of my new favorite
musicians. I tell you what, Dido is a great singer with a great voice with
some really nice, mellow tunes. Definitely worth checking out.
*Enya -- not
just one of my favorite Celtic singers, she's one of my favorite singers.
Period. For some reason or another, I just can't get enough Enya.
Check out this most definitive Enya site to get all the info on her.
*Hooverphonic -- I like
Hooverphonic, but not as much as this girl does. She does design a mean
web site, which is a good thing, and she's a fan of mellow, "trippy"
music like Dido plays. I give this web site some award for superior
design. I also give her an award for good taste in music.
Places for Computer Nerds
Like Me
*The Driver Guide --
if something's wrong with your system, and you're missing a file, you might be
able to find it here -- I keep it handy just in case.
*Windows
Update -- yeah, I know it's all propaganda and a huge monopoly, but the
better my Windows runs, the happier I will be. I go here to make WIndows
run better.
*TechEmail.com -- I
don't really hang out at this site a lot, but I got a pretty cool email address
from here, andrewfoerster@techemail.net
... I never check it, but it's cool knowing that I have it.
*DLL
Archive -- another site that has a bunch of files that you might need in
case something goes wrong with your system.
If You Watch TV or Movies ...
*The Greatest
Films -- all about the best movies ever made, and then some ... a worthwhile
site.
*Commercial
Music -- a relatively complete and a very rare list of music from TV
commercials.
*Roger
Ebert and the Movies -- the only man I trust in movie reviews and some other
guy (who, I'll say, is pretty good also).
*Roger
Ebert's Newspaper Column -- I usually check here for the bottom line on
current movies.
*Twin Peaks -- I watched
some episodes with my dad "back in the day," but they didn't really
sink in (I was pretty young, I think), but after researching quite possibly the
trendiest show ever, I've developed a deep interest for the show, mostly because
it's so enigmatic and interesting.
Sites to See if You're a
Cartoon Addict Like Me
**Cartoon
Network -- another thing we can thank Ted Turner for ... Cartoon Network is
wicked cool.
*Kids WB -- home of
Pokémon, which is entertaining, and Batman Beyond, which is very entertaining.
*Fox Kids -- home of
Digimon, which is entertaining, and sadly not much more.
* Well, now that you think that I'm either a complete dork, or some cute,
cuddly kid at heart, I'll just say, I like cartoons.
