Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society Minutes: 2001-2002 School Year

In attendance: Tyler Ranf Trevor Axner-Engel Steve Fiske Wade DesRosier Cassie Goodwin Tamar Kieval Dr. Shirley Dyke, Advisor Dr. Dyke brought a box of all of our things, which she kept in her office all summer and will continue to keep there until we get a file cabinet. According to her, all of our money was spent on initiation last spring. The list of things we need to buy: -A small file cabinet for the ASCE Lounge (ordered though Tisha) -A banner for initiation -A two-ring binder for membership records (Wade will get this) Things we need to do: -Send one (or two) people to conclave (need to know when/where/cost) -Ask Encoucil about SU Student group membership and how we get money (are other Engineering societies SU groups?) -Change current e-mail address to ChiEpsilon@cec (Tyler) -Update webpage to say Chi Epsilon and new officers (Trevor & Steve) -Give out old certificates to those who didn't pick them up -Do we have to nominate someone for the scholarship, and when? -Consider possible faculty and industry members for induction -Schedule general body meetings for once a month -Make a list of things to do at the beginning of the school year -Think about bringing in speakers, organizing lunch with students and speakers Decisions Made: -We decided to hold one initiation each year, but we will accept new members each semester. -Dr Dyke will review grades and send out invitations each semester, then we will collect dues at their first meeting (or at initiation?)
